full moon in scorpio
Hello, dear reader.
How are you after the Flower Moon?
Over here, this full moon in Scorpio did not come gently.
It bloomed wild in the sky from Sunday to Monday night. I can still feel the effects of that silvery light.
Some moons are like that… they linger… they ripple through the body, the dreamscape, the dinner table.
My husband even came down with a fever this time.
The moon, obviously, doesn’t just whisper to women.
If it moves the tides, it touches everyone under her sky, I’m sure of it!
Flower Moon, blooming in Scorpio
Named for the wild bursting of blossoms in May, when the land remembers colour again, when the air becomes lighter.
But this moon didn’t feel light, oh no. It felt like a pressure building behind the eyes, and it opened something.
For some of us, it stirred tears. For others, well, fevers, apparently.
This was a moon that asked us to feel what we had been holding.
And it reminded me again:
A woman is a flower… and a scorpion.
She blooms, yes, but she also carries instinct, protection.
She blooms, yes, but she also carries instinct, protection. She remembers where it hurt, she protects what matters. She knows how much deep scorpionic water is asked of the earth before a seed can sprout and open. She carries petals in one hand and sting in the other. Her scent drifts softly and her silence holds weight. She blooms above ground while something dangerous watches from below.
That’s the part no one tells you when they ask you to soften. They want the rose, but not the thorn. They want the oracle, but not the shadow you walked through to find your voice. But I do not think we were not made to be easy: we were made to be whole.
And wholeness is messy.
ritual for this week: blooming with teeth
If you’re still feeling the residue of this moon, if your body is holding heat or your dreams are restless, you are not alone.
This week, try this:
• Create a small offering on your altar, with a bowl of water and something that blooms (a flower, a herb), and something sharp (a thorn, a shell, a knife).
• Write down a part of yourself that has come alive recently… even if it’s inconvenient, angry, or tender.
• Whisper:
I do not have to be one thing.
I can bloom. I can bite. I honour the scorpion in me as much as the flower.
Let the flower sit in the water for a day, under the moonlight. Meditate on it, pray or just sit with it for a while.
Then bury it near your home, or in a pot, as a gesture of returning what was revealed to the earth. The sharp object can be cleaned in the water and stored safely for a new ritual or as a reminder for what you found out.
reflections:
What part of me have I been told is too much… and what if it’s actually sacred?
What have I buried that now wants to be seen?
Where am I blooming through something I thought would break me?
crossroads and questions
This week’s episode of Goddess, Witch, Woman is for the ones standing on shifting ground: the moment when your chest feels tight and your feet can’t quite decide where to land.
Episode 8 is about Hecate: the guardian of crossroads, the keeper of keys, holding the torch to light your path. Hecate doesn’t explain the way forward, She holds the torch and waits for you to take the first step.
I’ve been sitting in and with her presence for the last year.
She is my Goddess Godmother for my personal year.
If you want to find out which one is your personal Godmother through a reading of the Goddess Oracle, you can learn more about it here and you can book a consult here.
She is always there, especially as I walk through changes of my own. And perhaps for you too, wherever you are on your path. Come listen to the episode!
a new rhythm
The way we work here in this newsletter is shifting too, and I wanted to share it with you.
From now on, I’ll be writing to you only on the new and full moons. My energy is asking me that right now.
I will still weave in stories and symbols, still rooted in body and season. A bit slower, a bit deeper.
The podcast will remain weekly, every Wednesday, as always.
I’m still experimenting, still shaping what this space wants to become. And I'm in love with Substack!
Thank you for reading, listening, returning.
coming soon: the path of Inanna
We've been walking with Inanna for a while now, through the podcast, through our own descent and rising.
Soon, I’ll be opening the gates for a workshop. A deep, mythic, embodied return.
For those who’ve gone through the underworld and came back different. Or the ones who are ready for the voyage!
For those who carry themselves through life and death, and use their voice like a drum.
You’ll hear more very soon.
And if you’re a subscriber, you’ll get the first invitation! Yay!
If this letter stirred something in you, I’d love to hear it.
Comment, forward it to a friend, let me know how this landed for you.
Your presence is part of this ritual.
With stinging fire and lovely blooming,
Marianna
