Hello dear reader,
How was your week with the inward energy of the Taurus New Moon?
Some of you wrote to me after last week's invitation: the simple, radical act of looking at yourself in the mirror, evoking Inanna's fierce self-love... and yes, even practicing a little vulva gazing (hummmm).
That was a powerful ritual.
One reader wrote me:
“THAT WAS JUST WOW. I had never really seen myself like that before. I was terrified and amazed. It was very empowering, thank you!"
Another shared:
“It was uncomfortable at first, but then I took very deep breaths. Something slowly changed. I ended up crying and laughing at the same time. Thank you for inviting me to have the courage to try.”
I am so honored to walk these wild, tender paths with you.
Today (april 30), under the Waxing Crescent Moon in Gemini, we shift ever so slightly, from deep inward rooting to first small movements outward.
From silence to mumbling words. From seed to sprout. The Moon is growing again.
After the dark, fertile stillness of the New Moon, a thin smile of light returns to the sky: the Waxing Crescent, shy and full of promise.
This is the moon of first steps, first breaths, first roots beginning to stretch quietly underground. The Maiden Moon.
Taurus gave us the soil, the softness, the invitation to sink into our bodies, to listen to what is real, slow, sacred.
Now, under the Gemini sky (and soon Cancer, Leo, Libra till we reach the full moon in Scorpio), that seed stirs toward the surface, longing for air, for movement, for connection.
This is not a time for rushing. It is a time for tending.
A simple ritual for the waxing crescent:
Light a small candle of any colour.
Place your hands on your heart or your belly/womb.
Whisper to yourself:
“I trust the small beginnings. I bless the quiet growth. I honor the unseen roots.”Breathe. Smile. Plant the energy of patience and curiosity in your day.
Nothing is late. You are not behind. You are exactly where you are meant to be: at the beginning of something new, something sacred.
This week, may you listen to the small brave voice inside you.
May you trust the movement, even when it feels slow.
May you remember: becoming is not loud, it is organic.
Tomorrow is Beltane in the northern hemisphere. I will send you some words about it soon, keep an eye on your inbox!
This week on “Goddess, Witch, Woman":
We continue with Inanna’s story. It is one of the oldest we know: one of courage, surrender, and the mysteries that shape us beneath the surface of things. Her descent into the underworld is not just a myth, but a map, a remembering of what it means to lose, to transform, and to rise again.
This week’s podcast episode, Inanna’s Descent, is an offering to that ancient journey we all carry somewhere inside us.

And soon, a special Beltane Bonus is coming! A blessing and a ritual to honor the fires of life blooming again.
Wishing you deep breaths, patience and new light,
Marianna
