Goddess, Witch, Woman | ep. 10 - Hecate, archivist of grief, midwife of death

goddess of the liminal
Did you know that if you touch the little heart at the end of this message, more people can find this podcast? If you comment or restack (that's sharing on substack) it's even better for me to be found! Thank you, deeply!

There are names we may believe can only be whispered in the dark. Hecate is one of them. But she's there at any moment, whenever we seek her.

She is not the Goddess of easy answers or tidy endings. She walks at the edge of life and death, memory and forgetting, becoming and unbecoming. In this final episode of our Hecate series, we meet her as Psychopomp: the one who walks the dead, who guides souls, who lights a candle in the hand of the grieving.

We linger with her names, each one a key: Enodia, Chthonia, Propylaia, Brimo, Anassa Eneroi… Names that are maps, that are thresholds. Invocation, conjuring of this powerful, wonderful Goddess.

We tell the myth of Galinthias, transformed into a weasel for tricking the goddesses, and taken in by Hecate in a twist of Fate. A symbol of cleverness, transformation, and in-between magic. If you’ve ever felt like you survived by slinking through cracks, this one’s for you.

We talk about the Necromanteion of Thesprotia, the ancient site where the dead were called and the living brought questions. And we speak, too, of griefs that never got a vigil. Miscarriages. Silences. Losses that left no grave. This episode is a slow descent into that sacred space. A ritual of presence. A remembering.

As always, I offer reflection questions at the end. But I hope this episode becomes more than a podcast. I hope it becomes a candle in your night.

And if Hecate is calling you deeper, I invite you to work with me. Oracle readings are now open, and they’re a powerful way to listen more closely to what’s waiting in the shadows.
